PLAID

While on vacation in California, my husband and I made a trip to the Mood fabric store in LA (my husband was a trooper). There, I found this fun green plaid cotton print. It almost reminds me of something my mom would've had in the 90's (in the best way possible). It wasn't the fabric that I went in Mood searching for, but I fell in love with it.

I wanted to take a spin off the 90's plaid overhaul. I wanted to make this into a skirt, but give it a modern twist. Thanks to the YouTube channel @withwendy, I was able to do just that. She posted a tutorial of making a circle skirt with an exposed zipper. Usually videos are just down right complicated to follow, but she made it easy to follow. And, the skirt turned out exactly how I wanted it to. I had so much fun making this. Stay tuned in for my upcoming project involving my all time favorite, velvet, and my fun, chic take on it.
